The Jack Dwyer Show

Starting this week, I’ll be broadcasting a weekly variety show from my house. Hear the first episode here:

Also, coming to a virtual sidewalk near you….

Sometime soon I’ll also be starting to experiment with some online “busking” as a way to practice and try out new repertoire. I’ll be announcing some of those here at my website.

Stay safe and stay tuned!

The Jack Dwyer Show: weekly podcast, plus live streaming concerts

Live Stream Concerts

Hey all,
I will now be performing online concerts! I was able to get my internet connection upgraded last week, which means that starting this week I’ll be streaming live online concerts through my YouTube channel. The shows will be live stream only and not available afterwards, so you’ll just have to tune in! All live streams will be announced in advance on my schedule page, and for starters, I’ll be streaming every Monday evening from 7 to 8pm. I have missed performing for you all so much these past weeks and I’m happy to be starting back up in whichever way I can!

Jack Dwyer Show Weekly Podcast

And in case you can’t make it to the online concerts, I’ll be putting together a weekly variety show podcast and releasing it on my YouTube channel. It’s actually something I’ve been curious about trying for a while, and well, there’s no time like the present! (Seriously though! What the heck is going on?! I hope you all are staying safe and sane out there!)

And I hope you’ll stay tuned by subscribing at:

My New Virtual Tip Jar

The future is very much in flux at the moment, and we’re all navigating this new reality day to day. However, I am going to make as much music as I can through all of this. If that is something you would like to support, you can drop a few 1’s (and 0’s?) into my virtual tip jar.

It doesn’t light up like my old one, but other than that, it works the same!

Bandcamp Album Downloads

Or if you’d prefer, all my albums are now available for download (including the new one I released in January) at:

http://jackdwyer.bandcamp.com

I hope you’re all doing well out there. I’m very much looking forward to playing for you all in person sometime again sooner or later, but until then, I hope you enjoy these new experiments!

Live Music And COVID-19

Hey all,
Unfortunately it seems that we may all have to go without live music for a while. How long? Best answer is we don’t really know. While I have shows for this summer and fall penciled in on my calendar, it’s feeling more and more likely that those too will be cancelled… just another part of this new reality that we’re all living in. I’ll be posting updates here as soon as that starts to change. I am very much looking forward to a day when we can get together for live music again.

In the meantime, the show must go on! Check out my latest post to find out how I’ll be making music going forward:

Introducing: The Jack Dwyer Show

I’ve been thinking a lot about all of you, and this great community that we have. Wishing the best for all our venues, festivals, and organizations. I hope we can all find a way to help each other through this crazy time.

Thanks and stay healthy,
Jack

2020 Spring Update

Hey all,
Hope this update finds you off and running into your new year. Seems like this winter just flew by, but I have been busy with lots of music and we know what they say about time flying… So anyway, here’s what’s up:

New Album

This January I released a brand new album, recorded last year with good friend and usual suspect Bobby “Boom-Chuck-Norris” Winstead. It features seventeen old-timey duets and is called To The West. It’s currently available exclusively on Bandcamp, check it out:

https://jackdwyer.bandcamp.com/album/to-the-west

YouTube Channel

In the last few months I’ve uploaded a bunch of new videos to my YouTube Channel, including original songs, performance demos, practice sessions and more. Check it out, and if you like what you see, please consider subscribing to my channel over at:

http://www.youtube.com/jackdwyermusic

Now, I wouldn’t trade the life of a performing musician for anything, but once a YouTube channel reaches 1,000 subscribers it is eligible to monetize its videos and earn money when people watch. Not that I’m exactly aiming for YouTube stardom, but as they say, “every penny counts!”

New Videos

Here’s one I uploaded today… I wrote this song years ago and everyone always asks me which CD it’s on, and I always have to try and explain why I haven’t recorded it yet, so I’m very proud to present to you the first ever (and by no means last) recorded release of “The Devil’s Lullaby” and “The Dance of the Dream Eaters:”

Also worth checking out, new Jack Dwyer Trio videos:

And my new bluegrass project:

Spring Shows

Visit my schedule page for all show listings, but here are some highlights:

I’ll be performing at the Juan de Fuca Festival this Memorial Day Weekend.

I’ll be performing in a production of Always Patsy Cline at the Key City Public Theater in Port Townsend. The show runs every Thursday through Sunday, all April and through the first weekend in May. Get your tickets here: https://keycitypublictheatre.org/

I’ll also be down in Salt Lake City for a week in May, so keep an eye out for a possible show or two there.

And of course, Mondays at the Keg and I are still going strong:

Mailing List

If you would like to receive this post directly to your inbox, you can sign up for my mailing list. I send out four emails a year (once a season) with updates on all my recording and performing projects. Write to jackdwyerlist@gmail.com and let me know if you’d like to join.

That’s all for now… hope to see you soon.

Thanks,
Jack

2019 Spring Update

Hey all,
Hope your 2019 is off to a good start. Don’t know about you, but mine has been flying by! (As evidenced by my lack of posts so far this year). So I figured it’d be good to check in and let you know what’s up.

2019 So Far:

Kicked things off in January with a wonderful week-long tour of Arizona opening for Matt and Rebekah Rolland. (My first time ever in Arizona!) Played The Bellingham Folk Festival with my new Seattle-based bluegrass band, and showcased at the Wintergrass Festival. I’m calling us the Castle Hillbillies for now but we still don’t have an officially agreed upon name… suggestions? Sat in with the Warren G. Hardings of Seattle, WA as we opened for Front Country at a very snowy sold-out show at the Fremont Abbey. I just recently returned from a trip to the San Francisco Bay Area – where I performed at PianoFight, and sat in on couple gigs: with my friends Trouble Town at Kezar Bar and Restaurant and The Bow Ties, at Amnesia.

Looking forward to all of the music I’ll make in 2019. Here’s a preview:

The Keg and I

Mondays at the Keg and I are ongoing – come by any Monday from 5 – 7 pm to see me and a rotating cast of guests from around the Sound and beyond. Check the schedule for more info.

Monthly Shows

I’ll also be starting up a few monthly gigs on the Peninsula including First Wednesdays at The Ajax Cafe, Third Fridays at Finnriver, and Second and Fourth Tuesdays at The Valley Tavern. Again, please check the schedule for more info.

Fall Rumblings

Keep your ears open for some new music! I am tempted to gush but for now I’ll just say that I’ve been working on something for quite a while now and it’s almost done! (I think, haha). It’s called Over The Sea.

4.5 Stars for “When You’re Here For Christmastime” on Giant Killer Records

A good review for our first official release!

4.5 Stars

“…Bobby Winstead and his friends provide us with some quality Christmas entertainment. The songs are well written and aimed at fans of those old-style Christmas LPs of yesteryear. This is a Christmas release but anyone who like, “real” country may well enjoy it. Hopefully in the future we can look forward to lots more Bobby Winstead albums.”
